A Brand Is Born.

April 23rd 2009

Jessica Kizorek

We’re Idea wonks.

A brand is a brand is a brand (ho-hum) until it is a BRAND.

Until it is an IDEA that resonates. Makes sense. Connects. Has a purpose.

So while the entire world is stuck out there, measuring responses, leads, hits, the length of their di#!ks - we’re creating IDEAS WORTH MEASURING.

And so is our friend Jessica Kizorek, who unveiled her brand tonite.

Her brand is HER. What a pure, simple. honest, innovative IDEA.

It still and always starts with an IDEA.

Beats the crap outta metrics based on nothing.

Go Jessica!

Sob! Sob! We’ve Lost a Good One. (He’ll be back)

Diego thinking . . . about leaving.

Everyone,

Today, officially is my last day at the Soffer Collec+ive, formerly Soffer
Ad$%%@s.

I had the most amazing time here and honestly, it was more than I ever
expected. From my first few days of just sitting at a desk scanning things
for Karen and listening to Joe’s Chicago ad agency war stories to my very
last day opening and estimating jobs for Paradisus, it has been -
phenomenal.

As a farewell, I guess I should list some highlights of my career as an
Intern, Account Coordinator, Content Manager, Account Executive, Producer,
Video Editor, Intern Program Coordinator.

So here we are, a few memories to cherish:

1. Sitting at Patty’s house for 4 hours waiting for the water guy, he never
came.

2. Watching Don Soffer whip it out and pee on his own golf course.

3. Giving Kim an Olive Garden gift card for Secret Santa.

4. Making fun of clients in my weekly intern reviews.

5. Pulling AJ out of retirement to use as a voice talent on the French
Heineken radio spots.

6. Being the lead singer of a lesbian cover band. I really shouldn’t have
gotten that Coochie Beach tattoo on my chest.

7. Giving away the scooter to Tal, really dumb move.

8. Beating David out in a design competition.

9. Missing the fight at Manny’s house while getting gas.

10. Working with Libby.

In reality, there are too many to list. I could really make a book out of
this. Be careful, because I just might.

So farewell everyone, I will miss you all.

Diego

Phyllis Apple WAS the Real Estate Era

April 1st 2009

The lovely Phyllis Apple has decided to retire.

After 30 years as the undisputed Queen of Real Estate PR and recently named Top Real Estate PR Firm in the Americas by The NewYork Times/ CNBC, this incredible woman will play her own brand of Phyllis Golf, garden, read and spend time with her dog Candy, her friends and family.

I credit Phyllis for the success of The Soffer Collec+ive. She took us under her wing when we were babies and opened doors nobody else could. She believed in us and made me believe we could do anything.  My love for her is unbounded.

She is my idol. My inspiration. My work partner. My friend. I want to be just like her when I grow up.

You, Phyllis Apple, are an Icon. Enjoy every leisure day. You have left a beautiful mark on this city and this industry.

Now if you could just stop cheating on the golf course . . .
